With the new advancement in dentistry, socket preservation is becoming a must following  an extraction.

If a tooth can be saved, extraction should not be presented as an alternative good option, with an implant replacement. And if a tooth can’t be saved, extraction should not be performed without socket preservation, regardless when an implant would be placed following the extraction.
